Teacher notes (5 pages). You could set up math stations for students.
Optional lesson starter PowerPoint (0 to 20) – Whole class counting aloud backwards and forwards. You can assess students’ knowledge - which number comes after 7 or what numbers comes before 11 and practice one more/one less.
Picture Number Puzzle Strips x7 (color/b/w) – The strips range from 1 to 10, 11 to 20 and then counting by 2s to 20; counting by 2s using odd numbers, e.g. 1, 3, 5 etc and even numbers – 2, 4, 6 etc.
Numeral cards 0- 20 in words and figures for various activities such as matching numbers to number words; sorting odd and even numbers.
3 sets of Picture cards (pumpkin, pumpkin pie and ‘We are thankful’ cards) – to be used with a variety of activities with the numeral cards, as outlined in teacher notes. E.g. This is an assembly presentation on the topic of Guy Fawkes and bonfire night celebrated on 5 November in the UK.
The presentation can also be used as part of a lesson as there are 42 slides with optional follow-up activities.
Depending on how long your assembly is, you can choose what to include in as the presentation is editable.
It is divided into four sections:
• Celebrating with fireworks
• Guy Fawkes and the Gunpowder Plot
• How we celebrate today and fireworks code
• Ending assembly with our freedom to practise our own religion and a prayer.
You can begin your assembly from Slide 11 which covers the gunpowder plot and why 5th November is a special day.
The presentation contains a glossary and the list of conspirators.
The follow-up activities relate to what they have learnt in assembly or if using as a lesson, to consolidate their learning.

A lovely addition to Numbers/Number Words 1 and 2.
Number word to number match up Worksheets (x5) - Children draw a line from a number word to match up to its numeral. Each worksheet gets harder.
Counting worksheets (x4) - Each ten frames shows different number of dots which the children count and write in words in the space provided.
Double Ten Frames Read and Draw worksheets (x3)- Teen numbers up to 20. Children read the number words and then draw the same number of dots.
One more/one less worksheets (x5) - Children read the numbers in words and then write in words one less and one more on either side of the number word. In addition, two of the worksheets have a missing letters activity. Children insert the missing letters in the number words.
Doubles worksheets (x3); and
Writng doubles number sentences worksheets (x5) - Each box contains robots which the children count. They write the number in figures and in words. Then they double the number and write in figures and words. The worksheets are differentiated in that some children may be able to write doubles number sentences. Whole class activity – Laminate and cut out the flashcard numbers and randomly hand them out to the students.

You select a question card and then to choose a student to answer the question, say ‘I want whoever has number 7 to answer the question.’
The student that has card number 7 answers the question.
If you would like other students to answer the same question, then just say e.g. ‘I want whoever has card number, e.g. 23, to answer the same question.’
Depending on timing, you can decide on how many questions to select from the pack.
Working in Pairs or small groups
